As with all Leica cameras and lenses, this lens is characterised by its high end optical and mechanical construction as well as its key apochromatic design that consists of high quality anomalous partial dispersion glass. With 50mm being the closest focusing distance to that perceived by the human eye, this lens is ideal for day to day still and moving image capture. It further consists of a bright f2 maximum aperture, a balanced ergonomic barrel construction, and a portable form factor. In regard to its optical design, this lens consists of three aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations and distortions for improved sharpness and clarity.
